These Red Wine Poached Pears make an elegant and delicious dessert! Spice it up with spices for an extra punch in flavour!

- 80g Sugar
- 1/2 no Lemon
- 1 pc Cinnamon stick
- 1/3 btl Red wine
- 100 ml Water
- 2 Medium pears, peeled (Anjou, Borsch, Packham), cored and cut into quarters
- Combine sugar, lemon and spices with red wine and water. Bring to boil.
- Poach pears in syrup for 5minutes. Turn off the heat and allow pears to steep in solution till cooled. Chilled the pears overnight and use as required in salad, desserts or serve just simply on its own.
